The Ohio Investigative Unit patrols throughout Ohio to enforce the state’s alcohol, tobacco and food stamp fraud laws. Those agents are employed by the state, but patrol undercover.
Although numbers for Oxford were not available on the agency’s database, hundreds of minors in Athens, Kent, Akron and Bowling Green were arrested in 2014 – especially in Athens where some Ohio University students frequent bars underage. Each of those four cities are home to colleges with similar-sized campuses.
What do you think about these statistics? Are Ohio University students being unfairly targeted by the undercover cops or is there a bigger problem in Athens?
